“Light travels in a straight line and just changes its direction when it hits a different object”
For my light project I would like to take this sentence as my starting point and show in my photos how the light makes an object visible and lets its shape appear. I want to use blinds to create a sharp contrast of light and shadow and create a setting that reminds of the film noir light settings. The use of blinds that create sharp shadow lines on the faces of the actors are a common phenomenon of the film noir genre. I want to use that aesthetic to show stereotypes that appear in those films: the detective, the private eye, the femme fatale and the gambler. The photos show attributes that relate to these stereotypes in a black and white photography.
