My idea was to show heads that seem to break like very fragile objects in the moment they hit the ground. The photos capture this moment when the hat breaks and the different pieces fly through the air. I want people to take a second look at the photos that’s why I chose the aesthetic of fast shutter photos for my project. You look at them and your first thought is that you have seen this kind of pictures a couple of times before and then you take a second look on what you are really seeing and you realize that hats can’t break like this.
The shown hats represent the time aspect in my project. I’ve chosen them because they are fashion accessories that show the fashion style off a certain time. They are all different in shape and material and it is quite obvious that they are from different time periods when you look at them.
