Calculating the price of exile
The main theme in my project is exile, which has been a significant element in my life for the past ten years. In the beginning of the research process for my MA degree project I started keeping a diary, a stream of consciousness that poured from my head to the text. I am using two textual formats; the first is a memoir-type summary of my diary and the second is a poem-like comparison of my cultural experiences and observations.
The texts is presented as a monologue (recorded by myself), coming out as audio from speakers installed in a sculpture installation of a gigantic head hung from the ceiling. Visitors can put their own head inside this head-sculpture, listen to the monologue and follow the text on a small-sized screen.
