The DIY Magazine project takes starting point in the above quote by Art Spiegelman. Its aim is to prove him wrong by introducing a magazine where the reader decides the attitude and perspective of the magazine him self. The DIY kit forces the reader to use his creativity to decide the attitude of the layout – in this way the attitude becomes perspective. The magazine challenges the readers creativity, playfulness and ambition and when designed the reader is rewarded with a one a of a kind edition of the DIY Magazine.
The DIY Magazine comes in a box with the content of the issue printed on the sleeve. Inside the box the design- and content sheets are placed. The DIY Magazine comes with a user manual that will guide the reader in how to use it. With the 2 kinds of sheets the reader has numerous ways to form the layout.
