The concept for this project was inspired by the mix-tape. We had been having a conversation about how the art of mix-tape making is pretty much dead, and that its digital replacement just can't do what the analog version had done. We planned on making mix-tapes for each other. In another conversation we discussed print making, and how various forms of printmaking are being lost and dying out, replaced by faster digital methods that also can;t do what the analog version of printmaking had done. It was at this point that we decided to use the language of printmaking, to make a "printmaking mix-tape." We decided to each contribute 6 songs, and design an album jacket for each song using various print methods to create them.
