Endless Conveyor is an adaptive reuse proposal for a "design incubator" in South Boston at the site of the abandoned Boston Ice Company storage facility. The Endless Conveyor project proposes a new paradigm for creative production through the use of several systems of conveyance: A "vertical enfilade" organization based on the vertical conveyance of people and digital fabrication tools opens up free and customizable floor plans, contributes toward an extremely efficient net to gross ratio, and opens up new opportunities for the exchange of ideas and services between creative disciplines. A system of material differentiation within the curtain wall façade and of perforation within the existing concrete allows for the conveyance of direct and indirect daylight, limiting the need for artificial light with a minimum waste of existing building material. Additionally, the façade, itself, acts as a means of conveying the image of this new paradigm of creative production through the material effect of translucency.
