Let It Enfold You

“Let It Enfold You” are three-dimensional, interactive and tactile illustrations in which the distance between the viewer and the pictures is reduced.
The project was inspired by the poem “Let It Enfold You” by Ch. H. Bukowski. It consists of a white container, latex-objects, filled with sand and the text with the poem placed at the bottom of the box. The container represents the life of Charles Bukowski, described in the poem. It is filled with latex-objects, the balloons, in various sizes and shapes. Each balloon depicts one scene from the poem, one snap-shot, image described by Bukowski.
The act of reaching into the box illustrates going into the world of Bukowski. The viewer can touch and at the same time deform the balloons and take them out. When there are no more objects in the container, only peace and acceptance, mentioned in the poem are present.
