In August 2011 I graduated from the State Academy of Art & Design Stuttgart with my diploma »Design Helps«. I wanted to be helpful to somebody and not just create useless graphic design for graphic designers. I decided to help people who are in need of a poster but do not have the craftsmanship for it. But how does one find such people? Ultimately, I advertised in newspapers. I wrote: »Design helps. Do you need a poster? As a degreed graphic designer I design one for you free of charge. If you want you can reciprocate with a good deed of your choice.« My ad was published in 3 german newspapers and in 3 local city-magazines. As a result of my ad I have designed 15 posters. I silk-screen printed the posters in the Academy workshop and send them off to the people who requested them. They did indeed reciprocated with a good deed. Some read out to old people in senior homes or donated to social projects, others organized a fleamarket to collect toys and donated them to childcare-centers.
