The Observatory Discovery District One
Sited at sea, this project is the terrestrial base for the space elevator.
Going to space, elevating your body and mind to such an experience requires a thorough training. When entering, you are accepting to be guided through different steps, each one of them granting you access to a higher level of expertise.
This project is oriented towards the education of outer space, and hopes to bring people closer to meditating on the experience they are about to live.
The building itself tends to destabilize, disorient people. Its façade becomes a double skin where algae are cultivated, and provides a convenient, low cost energy generator, by the natural production of hydrogen.
Deeply rooted in the ocean, the building’s stability is insured by the underwater modules acting as huge ballast, and by the robotized tentacles, that filter the currents, and can shift from one side to the other in order to counter-balance the building’s and the weather’s fluctuations.
