We conceived, wrote and designed the book »Almost Nothing — I Am Everything« which is a description of the current society, dealing with the problems of the ego. The topic of identity always had the potential to disunite the disciplines of humanities. But there is one point which is agreed upon: Today each individual is caught by dilemma between appreciation and denial, desired appearance and feared being. The reason for that can be found in our latest cultural history, in which especially technological developments have made us perceive our ego as a status symbol which is modified and improved constantly. This society stimulates the development of new psychoses having a close relation to the ego. Consequently, today our ego has become a status symbol and problem as well.
