How will the material playground of tomorrow look like? Considering our interest in the properties and structures of things that reaches back to the usage of materials for their spiritual connotations to their efficient use in industrial applications, this research focuses on the material energies as invisible forces that result in materials being generative drivers for design.

This project presents a compilation of curious material probes which aim to guide us into the lively energies of their potential and boundaries, into new ways of perception and physical interactions.

From programming materials to control reactive properties, a Laboratory of Wondermaterials uses participation to open up plausible uses. Material probes shown in this framework are radiating glucose, printed thermal skin reactors, highly light absorbent surfaces, electro-sensitive liquids; their uses in energy and health applications is demonstrated.
