This book reflects the everyday life of my family based on precise, handwritten cash books.
This excessive list could represent the everyday existence of many people and families. Life is being presented in form of (financial) calculations. Hidden stories of a (/my) family, its needs and desires, achievements and losses are written between the lines of the bookkeeper.
To complement the cycle of this everyday life narratively, the first 18 years of life, from 1979 to 1997, were analyzed and summarized in appropriate categories. Short texts and interviews with the protagonists (of the list) add to the understanding of important life events. The list`s screenplay-like character demands a sequence of family photographs, professional product images, certificates and receipts.
The analysis of this monetary data set ends up in a publication of 12.051 entries, which visualizes the mundane world lived and loved by the Lange family – a bookkeeper`s list of the ordinary.
