The issue 10/08 of the economy magazine brand eins reported in their main focus about the subject of improvisation from different angels such as economy, science or sports. Therefrom I reflected, how improvisation is beeing used in graphic design and how I can use it in the design process. Improvisation was to help me work against predominant routines, rules and conventions. My aim was to get lots of different design solutions in a short time.
The work itself serves myself as a repertoire for future projects and should give other designers an inview of the design method improvisation. It is divided into three parts: theory, documentation and sketches. Goal of the theory was to get an applicable definition of improvisation for my practical work. The documentation summarises the originated sketches and puts them in context with the theory.
