„Pullerhilfen“
The task of the course was to develop a medial object that, through interaction, would create a sensation which is connected to an autobiographic memory.
I chose a childhood memory as starting point: The situation of not being able to pee, when I had to, for instance at the service station, before my mum put me into my snowsuit or before long walks. The only rescue in those moments was a dripping tap or somebody how would pee next door.
To picture the situation I designed a sort of soft toy with a hidden sound recording medium. An integrated switch starts a „peeing sound“ when the item is getting touched.
I attached the object on children’s clothes and accessories that could have been mine when I was little.
These hairy sound elements have a weird appearance and are supposed to reflect the desperation of the moment, but at the same time try to be an answer for the situation.
