House of arts and culture is located next to the Belgrade Fortress and the Danube river, at the very edge of the built city structure.
It represents a bond between the city and the green accomplished by its green architecture, a portal between different ambiences, between the inner and the outer space.
The form of the House is defined by its environment, by the need of opening views to the Fortress, to the river and the city on the other side. It points towards the river, forming a unique roof park zone which could be approached from the ground level. Together with the art pavilions on the way to the river bank, and the platform above the river where the cultural events would take place, it gives this region a completely new identity.
The main goal of the project was to create a dynamic, multifunctional space that changes constantly. Flexibility and versatility of space are the main characteristics that define it.
