Located on the south coast of Terceira island, Angra do Heroísmo is a World Heritage City by UNESCO since 1983 and was the first Portuguese city to achieve this status.
The bay of Angra - a small bay enclosed by the mass of Mount Brazil & Castelinho tip - was a natural harbor that had excellent physical characteristics, due to which, from the 15th century, became a mandatory stop for ships crossing the Atlantic Ocean coming from Africa, India and the Americas.
Although, at present, has lost considerable part of the relevance of the past, Angra’s continues, however, to be an important reference for those who cross the Atlantic, both due to the centrality of the island, and physical and geographical characteristics that still make it a good shelter, not for ships and caravels, but for yachts and catamarans.
Therefore, in this final-work, I choosed to reflect on the redevelopment of Angra’s waterfront.
