The transparent facade of a office building is shimmering in green and red colours.Plants and fruits are slightly moving up and down between the spacious glass windows. Formal garden in the centre of megacities.Where horizontal space is rare, the gardens are growing in the vertical direction. Powered by a water mill, fruit and vegetable plants grown in a paternoster are hauled up the sides of high-rise buildings on a steel cable, supplying the products directly from the “field” to self-service machines. The plants in living green facades improve the air quality inside the building and reduce the energy costs for air conditioning and ventilation. Plants in working and living space are good for health, decreasing headache and skin irritations, hospitals with view into the green gives a faster recovery and pupils in green classrooms learn more concentrated. The answer for the lack of food in the future could be self supply of cities. Transportation is minimized and supplies are constant
