High density residential project in Beijing City Center. The site lies at the border of an historical cultural district. The project is an attempt in slum upgrading, while integrating in the context; an attempt not to create a fake repetition of Chinese architecture, but a modern review of the traditional features: the courtyards, the closure to the outside, the tortuous walkways...
The project deals with high density: protection of residents and maintenance of the population on site.
