/Travelers’ Tales/ is a study of the city experience through dialogues of passengers. Recordings of conversations overheard on trains at 5 different times of the day are translated into a series of soundwaves installation. These accordion folds are individually shaped according to the contours of the digital soundwaves collected. With the partially audible eavesdropped conversations, /Travelers’ Tales/ invites the audience to complete these strangers’ stories with their own imagination. The frequency of words mentioned is also mapped out to reveal everyday impressions of the city’s culture and attitude.
