In the second term we had to fulfill the following task for the typography workshop with an assigned font (in my case the Times New Roman) within 7 weeks: Design a book consisting of 100 pages on the topic “a typographic garden“. In seven chapters the book describes different images which all deal with the subject of a garden. The subject is often reflected by hand-made typography such as the TIMES cut out of potatoes, made by branches or cut into wood. In other chapters I transformed the font and created a new lettering or made describing illustrations to texts concerning the subject. In general a very classical middle centered typography is combined with aggressive neon-paper. In order to be able to afford the binding of the book in high quality hardcover (total budget ca. 70 Euros), I printed and imposed all the data by myself on cheap recycling paper and on neon-poster-paper.
