The Museum of Letters is a non-profit organization devoted to preserving and documenting letterforms. It is currently in the process of putting together a permanent collection and was looking for a design concept.
EXHIBITION DESIGN CONCEPT
MOVING LETTERS
The concept is based on a flexible system of mobile elements, which can be arranged individually in the exhibition space. Thereby it can be easily adapted to different locations, temporary or permanent spaces.
MODULAR & FLEXIBLE;
Modular elements of different sizes and shapes are developed to accommdate the large variety of items on display (i.e. large neon signs, small letterforms and typographic objects).
LETTERCASE PRINCIPLE
Single letters are arranged on easily movable modules, allowing visitors to set words and sentences, reminiscing the good old lettercase.
PLAY & LEARN;
The interactive features add a playful approach to the otherwise educational character of the exhibition, thus intensifying the visitor`s experience.
