I produced a book about the human hand.
I want to find out what are hands telling us? How do blind man come along, how do deaf people use their hands to speak. What stories can the tell about their hands. Our allround tool. I selected eleven persons: a blind man, a deaf woman, a monk, a barber, a illustrator, a musicias (he has only 9 fingers left. That is why the title is 109 and not 110 Fingers), a grand mom, a breakdancer, a medicine and a DJ. I focus on the hands while doing their thing. I made interviews with every one to find out storys and quotes. First I show just the hands of the person, then the hands in action, then a object of them and finally the whole body portrait. I also used special materials for the book (uncoated paper, Leather cover with a stitch, folio for the quates ...).
