It Is Better If You Read The Words

Much of our focus is drawn to the big and dramatic events in our life, leading us to forget that the sublime is usually inextricably connected to the mundane and just as often the ridiculous. Poster book/ cut up narrative. Accompanied by an interactive website. My aim was to draw attention to the now, the mundane and the in-between times as these seemingly unimportant moments make up the majority of our lives. The introductory text I wrote for this book is key to its understanding, setting the scene to lead into a series of found images and words, cut up and rearranged. Each page has its own moment, vignette or phrase. The phrases are a mix of the sublime and the mundane and can be read as a narrative or cut up poem developing throughout the book or singularly on each page. Connections between the sublime and mundane are made as both are given equal billing on single pages, set in the same headline font against the sublime backdrop of images of dying stars and deep space.
