We designed a board game which is reflecting our interpretation of Seoul.
As citizens of Seoul, we interprete Seoul as the city full of ambitions, needs and cravings. This game is based on the map representing the topography of desires in Seoul.
We define four needs on the basis of Maslow's hierarchy of needs, and add two more specific needs that are conspicuous in Seoul. We assign a specific color for each need defined and visualize the hierarchy of these needs by using the shape of a cube.
We pick six booming businesses in Korea and symbolize them by allocating above-mentioned needs.
By using statistics from 2004 to 2007, the number of each business in Seoul is expressed by the degree of transparancy.
First player will decide where to start. Each player will be assigned certain amount of money to buy a land and build businesses. By build business on the land, one can earn stopping fee from other players staying there. Game is over when everyone goes to bankrupt except the winner.
