So, it it Ping? Pung? Pong?
PNG files of screen shots on my desktop lie around day after day, and every now ad then, I try to give a method to the madness, moving around and organising the icons as if they were books on my real ‘desk’.
Making characters out of these thumbnails, I wondered if there was new world beyond the desktop..what if the icons of a Mac aren’t really as static and cold as they look?
P_NG is an experimental project attempting to create a new world within the desktop, almost like a mischevious, sweet virus. I created 2 short animated samples- first, a short story of how Mac creatures are born and the second- the world of scrollbar greenery, button flowers and fruits and weird-limbed creatures playing across two shared screens of one computer.
P_NG also goes into the 3D world- Projecting each desktop screen separately but adjoining on the walls of a room, with creatures jumping across the walls, a whole new virtual world of a desktop is created, way larger than your computer screen!
