Once – Rene Sim
We like the simple and clean concept and the dynamic life of the visual aesthetics of the projects. The images of the clocks are just as interesting when it doesn’t spell the word ‘Once’.

Blond – Vera Schäper
We like the playful way the pictures are alike and yet so different. The dead eyes together with the blond looks makes it work.

Yummy – Pu Chen
The animation is very warm and poetic. The images are authentic and the ending is surprisingly perfect. We hope that all the steaks we eat have a life like this before they end up on the dining table.

No hidden message – Mia Rockel
Very interesting experiments on developing a new typographic language. It reveals the computational and technological processes of our modern age.

With Love From China - Laura Strasser
The project shows a good research on the foreign mass production and shipping of western products produced in China. When we get a new insight in the production processes we add value to the product. It raises questions about the rest of the products that make up our everyday lives.

Ordnung und Chaos - Ursache und Wirkung – Kerstin Büchter
To put is simple; this project is a very good example of thorough research, clever experiments and extremely well executed final results which communicates very clear to the observer.

Fötus - Karolina Pyrcik
The book has some really interesting and detailed illustrations…about an interesting and detailed subject. We like the experimentations combined with the nicely excecuted layout of the type and images.

Amstel Gold Race - Guus Gijben
We like the fresh approach to layout, information design and mapping in this project. It’s an surprising way of documenting a classic bike race.

Studium Digitale - Florian Fischer
We don’t know exactly why, but we like the naïve combination of the desktop image and the surrounding nature in the poster. It doesn’t speak the traditional poster language which makes the image work on its own.

Short portrait

The Danish Design School is one of two major schools in Denmark which houses programs in a number of different disciplines; Fashion design, visual communication, industrial design, furniture and spatial design, textile design, design for movies and TV, digital interaction and glass and ceramics. All the different programs are built up by a cross-disciplinary modular system and that of cause equals an interesting atmosphere and interesting results in the different projects.

Within recent years the Danish Design School decided to bring a more academic approach to the different degrees, which means that the students have to put a bigger emphasis on the theoretical part of their design projects. The school has also started to collaborate with other universities on design projects to make sure that the students are more equipped for industry when they graduate.

What we think makes The Danish Design School special compared to other design programs in Denmark, is that we both get educated in fulfilling the needs of the industry but also that we are encouraged to break the conventional rules.
