The lattice shell is considered to be one of the most efficient surface structures which is able to span unsupported
over wide spaces with minimal material input by using a net of bar-shaped elements. "Plusminus" - the pneumatic
lattice shell goes one step further: the idea is to especially reduce the dead load of the structure. The bar-shaped
elements consisting of inflated foil tubes will shape - if they are connected flexible at their cross-over points - a
grid shell.
The lattice shell will not work as a supporting framework until all cross-over points are fixed. Thereby the
framework will be braced. "Plusminus" attains this point by evacuating two foil coverings which are situated above
and under the grid and are pressing the cross-over points together.
