I chose a travel guide as a vessel for expressing information. I believe that numbers or statistics cannot convey sufficient information - that it is in fact its integration and juxtaposition with more connotative materials that allows for true communication of data. Thus, I developed a number of formal and function techniques to give a richness and specificity to the place.

First, I transposed a historical timeline of Cambodia ontop of that of my 2-week personal narrative travelling through the country. Then, ontop of that, I integrated travel information and statistical data about the country.

I also created space for the user to insert their own narrative, including detachable sections for each city that could be rearranged to fit a different journey. (see "hello_used1.jpg" and "hello_used2.jpg")

I also investigated the use of visual patterning to aid language learning by mapping with phonetic repetition. (see "hello_cover1.jpg")
