Los Angeles has commissioned a project for an L.A. River experience with the purpose of providing a place for sanctuary, contemplation, reading, writing, meditation, and reflection. This space is to be situated in the L.A. River between Fletcher and Los Feliz Boulevards around the train pylons. The space will employ the principles of "parasitic architecture" and attach to existing structures and/or utilize space between existing structures. The design should be durable enough to withstand inclement weather, high winds and possible vandalism.
