I am a creative young designer with a strong sense of aesthetics and a characteristic, humorous style. In design I value tradition and continuity. I love to explore the time-honoured forms, materials and crafts, and give them the new quality by merging with new technologies. My design is inspired by people– our practises, customs and everyday interactions. With that in mind I aim to create meaningful products that cause reflection, delight and excitement.

Baika Dolls is an adventurous sound toy for creative play. It consists of a series of dolls embodying the popular characters from the traditional tales, the classical landscape elements of the fairytale world and a board providing a platform for play.
Once placed on the board, each doll makes a unique sound revealing its feelings, for instance joy, delight, fear or sorrow. The reactions always depend on the pre-set scenery and the other dolls that are around. Great number of unique encounters provides endless storytelling scenarios. The sounds can be modified in friendly software provided with the toy, which gives children opportunity to upload their custom sounds and make their dolls tell any story they like.
The design of the toys is inspired by the folk stylistic of Poland – my home country. Also the name: Baika is a phonetic spelling of the polish ‘bajka’ which means ‘story’. Dolls and their environment are all crafted from pinewood and hand painted.
